Riedel continues to impress the wine world with its innovative designs. The Tyrol line, released in 2007, adopts an intermediary position between the completely stemless O wine tumblers that set a national trend and Riedel's long-stemmed, more fragile beauties. Each Tyrol glass features a short stem, more of a foot really, that is half of a solid sphere, lending great stability and reducing breakage worries. Crafted in Bavaria of sparkling leaded crystal yet dishwasher-safe, Tyrol is perfect for a casual, more contemporary approach to fine dining at home.
This set includes two Tyrol Viognier/Chardonnay glasses, each holding a maximum capacity of 12-7/8 ounces and measuring 4-7/8 inches in height. The smallish glasses are designed to bring out the best attributes of medium-bodied white wines such as Viognier, Chablis, Chardonnay, and Chenin Blanc. Also a treat to use for juice or sparkling water, the pair makes an excellent gift. Riedel Chardonnay Glasses
Great product -- it's hard to go wrong with Riedel. I actually use these for nice water glasses for dinner parties, as I prefer stemless wine glasses at a formal table.
